Perpetrators of sexual violence are now hunting potential victims online. More and more adolescents and children have fallen victim.
TIME difference is a special challenge for activists with the Southeast Asia Freedom of Expression Network (SAFEnet). Head of SAFEnet’s gender violence subdivision, Ellen Kusuma, said advocacy for victims of online sexual violence is often delayed due to a time difference with social media administrators in the United States and in Europe. “They don’t have teams that work 24 hours,” she said on Friday, May 28.
