PRESIDENT Joko Widodo intends to allocate mining business licenses (IUPs) and special mining business licenses (IUPKs) to mass organizations. The method involves revising Government Regulation No. 96/2021 on the Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activities. Several government sources said that the concession allocation to mass organizations aims to fulfill Jokowi’s political promises to organizations such as Nahdlatul Ulama.
