SEVERAL young people were wandering around the campus of Jakarta's Paramadina Mulya University last Monday. Some were busy making calls; some were talking to their friends. On that day, Nurcholish Madjid, also known as Cak Nur, had invited reporters to hear him announce his readiness to become a presidential candidate in the 2004 elections.
