ALETTER from New York, USA, caused a stir Tuesday last week. It was sent by Ann K. Cooper from the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and was addressed to the President of the Republic of Indonesia. The CPJ Executive Director was asking President Megawati to use her power to order the Aceh martial law administrator to guarantee the safety of American freelance journalist, William Nessen.
