Remember the bartering of high-tech planes for glutinous rice? That shocking event took place eight years ago. At that time, two CN-235 planes made by PT Dirgantara Indonesia were bartered for 100 tons of Thailands glutinous rice. In addition, six planes which were purportedly the national pride, were traded for Malaysian-made, 150 Proton Saga cars. But that was when Suharto was still in power and he did whatever he wanted to do.
