In 2018, Indonesia will have the honor of leading MIKTA, an informal partnership between Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Australia, formed in 2013. The leadership was handed over by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuolu to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno L.P Marsudi at the MIKTA Ministerial Summit in Istanbul, December 13.

In 2017, the partnership’s priorities are terrorism eradication, economic partnership, and refugee crisis
