Indonesia-Afghanistan To Strengthen Economic Cooperation

President Joko Widodo visited Afghanistan and met President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul on February 29. In the meeting, the two leaders agreed to improve the two countries’ economic cooperation. "I have asked the ministers to push business to business contact," said President Jokowi.

He also gave a promise to send a business delegation to Afghanistan in the first quarter of this year. Last year, around 100 entrepreneurs from Afghanistan participated in Trade Expo Indonesia and generated more than US$1.1 million in transactions.

"I believe that more intensive interactions among business people from the two countries will open many opportunities for partnership," President Jokowi added.
