THE mating season for banks will soon be upon us again. Bank Indonesia (BI) is putting together merger criteria and hopes to put together new clutches of banks. The head of the financial stability bureau of BI, who is also the coordinator of the Indonesian Banking Architecture (API), Muliaman Hadad, says the criteria and groups of banks in question will be issued in May. BI Governor Burhanuddin Abdullah says that he will publish them in June.
