ONE day before the board of directors of Pertamina were due to meet with senior editors of Indonesia’s national mass media, Vice President Jusuf Kalla suddenly invited these media leaders to his official residence in Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday night last week. The topics of conversation revolved around the continued shortages of kerosene that were much reported during last month.
