Leaving the Poor Behind

Indonesia’s economy ran increasingly faster during the third quarter of 2007. The acceleration was encouraged by the strengthening of domestic demands. In addition to increasing purchasing power, it was contributed to by ever lowering interest rates. Unfortunately, only the haves were enjoying it. Manpower absorption continued to be limited. Public confidence in the government also continued to slide.
