Indonesia Leaves OPEC
THE rumor has been around for the past two months. On Wednesday last week, Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro gave the final word. Indonesia leaves the Organization of Petroleum-Exporting Countries (OPEC). The reason is that Indonesia is now an oil-importing country. For the past five years, Indonesia's oil exports have been lower than its imports.
