Bank Negara Malaysia has annulled Maybank’s agreement to acquire BII due to the new regulation regarding tender offers. But Temasek is still clinging tight to the sales-purchase agreement.

DYAH Margasari never dreamt that she would end up being stranded. At the end of March this year, this 40-year-old lady doubled her ownership in Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII) to 150,000 shares. One of her reasons for this was the acquisition by Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) of this bank that used to belong to tycoon Eka Tjipta Widjaja.
