RISING prices before and during Ramadan seems to have become a tradition. Without any prompting, traders raise the prices of basic necessities, like rice, eggs and cooking oil. This year, however, the government seems to have controlled the prices quite well. The rate of inflation throughout August remained at 0.5 percent, below the estimates of economists.
