FOR decades, NASCAR car racing has symbolized car industry supremacy in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Winning at the NASCAR circuit is identical to Detroit’s expertise in designing racing cars. The race arena is also like a showroom. So tight is the relationship between NASCAR and Detroit that among car dealers there’s a saying, “Whatever wins [in NASCAR] on a Sunday, will be sold the following Monday.”
