James Tjahaja Riady has a brilliant name (Tjahaja means 'light' in Indonesian). His Lippo Group has a cool symbol that combines the alpha and omega letters to form the number 8 in brilliant red. In Chinese mythology, eight symbolizes good luck, a symbol of infinite prosperity—no beginning, no end. In 1997, Forbes listed the Riady family as number six on the rich list in Indonesia, with a total wealth of US$1.8 billion.
