GENERAL Electric (GE), which has been in Indonesia since 1930, is now moving into the sectors of health equipment, machinery, railways and financial institutions. In mid-July, Indonesia’s state-owned train company, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) purchased 20 C20-EMP locomotive engines from GE, valued at US$40 million. These locomotive engines will be assembled by PT Inka in Madiun, East Java.
