IT took 16 years to dethrone US billionaires as the world's wealthiest men. And the one who succeeded in grabbing the title was Carlos Slim Helu. On Wednesday last week, the Mexican telecommunication tycoon was established by Forbes magazine as the richest man on the planet. His total wealth is US$53.5 billion (around Rp491 trillion). Slim's riches have risen by US$18.5 billion over the last year.
