Slamet's sorrow is probably somewhat lessened by a gift from the government. He and his farmer friends from Kemeranjen village in Banyumas regency, which was hit by a flood and storm, have probably heard of the government's generosity in giving a 25-50 percent reduction on their principal debt and writing off interest and penalties on late payments of loans.
With such a gift, Slamet need no longer worry about how he's going to repay the Rp900,000
