Fining Toyota

THE US government may fine Japan's Toyota Motor Corp US$16.4 million (around Rp149 billion). The threat of fine was aired because Toyota was considered to have concealed an accelerator pedal problem and delayed the recall of the flawed products. US Secretary for Transportation Ray LaHood, as quoted last week by Reuters news agency, said that Toyota was negligent in not notifying distributors of the gas pedal problem.
