DURING the last few months, world oil prices have been like a jet flying really low over Afghanistan territory. They have dropped from a height of US$27 per barrel to US$22 per barrel, and then dived even further. OPEC member countries are very concerned about these significant price drops.

It is expected that the atmosphere at the OPEC ministerial level meeting that starts on Wednesday this week in Vienna will be full of pessimism.
