IT was as if we were back in the colonial era in Petarukan Station, Pemalang, Central Java. The ceilings are typically higher than 10 meters and the wide doors and windows are made of teak. A cause for worry, however, is the infrastructure of the train controller in the station, which is relatively antiquated, made at the beginning of the 20th century.
