PERTAMINA’S Main Office on Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Jakarta, was a hive of activity on Saturday morning two weeks ago. Fire was raging at Tank 31-T02 at Pertamina’s refinery at Cilacap in Central Java.

Cilacap is a major supplier of fuel products for Central Java, Yogyakarta, and West Java. If shipments were disrupted, industries, transportation and households in these areas would suffer.
