AT THE end of last week, there was a surprise announcement from the Attorney General's Office, stating that Ali Wardhana was banned from traveling abroad. This former New Order technocrat is regarded as one of the architects of the Indonesian economy and, together with Prof. Widjojo Nitisastro, was nicknamed the "Boss of the Berkeley Mafia."
