The generous creditor has suddenly become demanding. After disbursing its loans to Indonesia for so long without a fuss, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), through its chief representative in Jakarta, Jan Heeswijk, announced last week that ADB would disburse future loans on condition that the government of Indonesia faithfully sticks to its agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
