Bali has changed in form over the past decade. Many of the island's vast rice fields have been turned into glass-fronted stores, restaurants and starred hotels. What agricultural land remains around Jalan Sunset Road, which connects the Ngurah Rai Bypass with Korobokan, has been targeted by investors.
