NO tofu and tempe (soybean cake) vendors could be found in Kranggan Market, Yogyakarta, on Monday last week. They had all gone to support a protest organized by the Tempe and Tofu Producers Cooperatives Association (Gakoptindo) as a result of the soaring soybean prices, which had reached Rp10,000 per kilogram.
