Costs on Indonesia's first deepwater project have skyrocketed. SKK Migas, now under KPK investigation, is not sure how to proceed.

The letter SKK Migas had been waiting for finally arrived. On February 12, the upstream oil and gas regulator finally received confirmation from Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik on what to do about Indonesia's first deepwater gas project, preparations for which were underway in the Makassar Strait off East Kalimantan. "SKK Migas is to proceed with policies that will ensure smooth operation," Jero wrote.
