THE rapidly growing property sector over the last several years seems to be driving growth in another, newer sector: serviced offices and virtual offices. Established players like Marquee and Regus are capitalizing on the opportunity, but prospects for newcomers remain. Over the past year, a number of foreign and local companies have been actively expanding into the rental business.
Serviced offices and virtual offices offer a more flexible alternative to leases or outright property sales. Clients can rent rooms that accommodate up to 12 persons and rental times can be arranged on an an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. Rent payments vary from hundreds of thousands of rupiah per person per hour to tens of millions of rupiah per month.
