Eight years have passed since discussions began, but a plan for a national payment gateway remains unachieved. A national payment gateway (NPG) is in line with President Joko Widodo's goal to support the country's e-commerce industry. "The system will also make payments more efficient," said Bank Indonesia deputy governor Ronald Waas at Bank Indonesia's headquarters in Central Jakarta last Thursday. The goal is for an integrated payment system to be rolled out this year.
