ENERGY and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said was seen heading for the Presidential Office at the State Palace on Friday two weeks ago. He was there to talk to President Joko Widodo about progress on the nation's 35,000-megawatt electricity mega-project.

At the meeting, Sudirman submitted a detailed report on current challenges, including project cancellations by State Electricity Company (PLN). One project he discussed was the cancellation of the Jawa V steam power plant (PLTU) project located in Serang, Banten.
