Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan convened a meeting at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Jakarta on Monday night last week. Inviting several faction leaders at the House of Representatives (DPR), Luhut wanted to gauge their commitment to government-led talks on the tax amnesty bill.

Those present included Hendrawan Supratikno of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and the recently elected Golkar Party chairman, Setya Novanto. Representatives of the United Development Party (PPP), Hanura and the Nasional Demokrat were also present.
