OfficiALS to Probe Google
The directorate-general of taxation will investigate Google's tax obligations after Google Indonesia and Google Singapore both refused an inspection in response to the warrant issued by the tax office last month.
"The inspection rejection certainly indicates a criminal act," said the chief of the Jakarta Special Tax Office, Muhammad Hanif, at his office on Thursday last week. The taxation directorate-general responded by raising the status of Google's tax examination to initial evidence inquiry. "We're investigating soon," Hanif said.
