A number of foreign companies have threatened to leave the country if the Indonesian government fails to provide a guarantee for the supply of salt. Susi Pudjiastuti is at odds with several cabinet ministers.
Occasionally glancing toward the balcony in the House Agricultural Affairs Commission's meeting room at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, last Monday, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti spoke out about the transfer of authority in regard to salt import recommendations. Susi defended salt farmers, who have grown concerned after the government issued a regulation on salt imports.
