The government has failed to make a final decision over the settlement of debts of big-fish debtors who are still very much on top. The government is still kind-hearted although it has been proved that so far they have had no good intentions as regards settling their debts.

THE old proverb "pride goes before a fall" certainly doesn't apply to Indonesia's former bank owners. Even though many banks have been closed down or taken over by the government, life is still pleasant for the former owners. Their fate is in fact better than that of tens of millions of other Indonesians. Even though these big-fish debtors have run up debts of trillions of rupiah, the kind-hearted government is still doing its best to help them.
