Coastal Plains Pekanbaru Timeline

9 August 1971: Caltex Pacific Indonesia (CPI) is awarded oil refinery rights at the 21,975 sq km Coastal Plain and Pekanbaru Plain block. It was only announced later that the Coastal Plains Pekanbaru (CPP) contract would run for 20 years.

11 August 1997: President Suharto issued a presidential decree not to extend CPI's contract at CPP. The decree stated that the field was to be returned to the state.
