The government continues with its plan to make vehicle insurance and third-party liability insurance compulsory. There is suspicion that insurance is used to collect money from the public.
THE government’s plan to mandate motor vehicle insurance next year has left Lili Pujiati feeling uneasy. Lili, who serves as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Transportation Workers Union, fears that the insurance requirement will add to the burden on her members, especially online motorcycle taxi and taxi drivers, as well as couriers.
According to Lili, their income is uncertain and generally low, leaving little room to pay for insurance
