Mobile telephone service is getting worse yet prices are rising. The increase is probably due to unfair business dealings with state officials, say industry experts.

There is bad news ahead for cellular telephone users. Phone bills will undoubtedly rise next month. The reason is that cellular telephone operators will start raising their tariffs. Telkomsel, for example, will as of this month raise its tariff by various amounts. Users of prepaid Simpati cards, however, will experience the highest increase: as much as 20 percent for calls received by users while they are outside their home zone.
