Not too long ago, the idea of forming a savings guarantee agency (SGI) was briefly mentioned by the Deputy Head of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA), Sumantri Slamet. This former idea now appears to be taking shape, as a plan has been put forth to establish an institution to guarantee the savings of bank accountholders.
