After initially almost failing to do so, Garuda Indonesia directors and the Association of Garuda Pilots finally agreed on an increase in salaries. Both sides had to be "lectured to" by Minister Jacob Nuwa Wea.

The parties in the dispute finally smoked the peace pipe, which came as a great relief. After two weeks of being stubbornly prepared to go on strike, while the other party had reported them to the police, Garuda Indonesia's pilots ultimately reached an agreement with the directors.
