SOME quite surprising news emerged from the Department of Finance during last week. Finance Minister Boediono has made a new policy decision regarding debtors at small- and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) that were once under the umbrella of the former Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA), which have not yet cleared their liabilities. What this means is that the government will settle these matters in a peaceful manner.
