THE pressure on Bank Indonesia (BI) to lower the interest rate is mounting. This week, the Central Statistics Agency announced the rate of annual inflation through to June was only 6.62 percentthe lowest figure in the last three years. The situation is increasingly conducive to an attempt to trigger economic growth by reducing the interest rate.
