DIRECTOR-General of Taxation, Hadi Purnomo, entered the room laughing. Last Thursday afternoon, at the multi-purpose room in the Tax Office Headquarters on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, dozens of reporters with their tape and video recorders, impatiently waited for him to speak. Chief editors and national mass media owners were gathered as well. "This is the first time I've been surrounded by this many reporters," said Hadi, beaming.
