MADRASAH (Islamic boarding schools) suddenly shot to world fame. It happened two months ago when US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and British Prime Minister Tony Blair chatted joyfully with students of Madrasah Al-Mamuriyah and Madrasah Darunnajah in Jakarta. From the visits, Condy and Tony understood that madrasah teach national subjects instead of merely serving as religious schools.
