THE waving of the right hand is like no other. The palm of the hand, facing forward, slowly turns inward as it sways from side to side. A smile flashes, so special that it can only come from “The Smiling General.” His features which for 32 years graced the media were firmly etched in the mind of the public: grey-haired and eyes reduced to a line when he breaks into a smile. An all too familiar face to Indonesians.
