HEAVY rainfall suddenly poured down on the Island of Siberut as the two men were about to go deeper into the Peleonan forests. Thomas Ziegler and Susilo Hadi were forced to take shelter in the semi-permanent research shack. In the cold of the wind, the two researchers from the Gottingen University Primate Center in Germany waited for the rain to stop.
