Jakarta’s open green spaces have been turned into concrete jungles. Areas that were initially allocated as the city’s lungs and water conservation areas have fallen victim to the interests of big business. The following is a portrait of open green space in five main locations: Senayan, Tomang Park, Kapuk Beach, Kelapa Gading and Sunter.
