AFTER the severe storm of the previous day Muara Angke Wildlife Sanctuary, already a wetland, was deluged on February 2, designated World Wetland Day. Some of the newly built boardwalks designed to keep the feet of visitors dry were barely a few centimeters above the swiftly flowing flood. As one volunteer wryly commented, it was perhaps an apt day for such a celebration.
