Customary villages in Bali have turned themselves into environment-related tourism areas. Turtles have begun to lay eggs on the beach.

WAYAN Mertha now has an additional activity: looking carefully at the sand under the dining tables at the cafes in Kedonganan Beach, Jimbaran, Bali. “Baby green turtles can suddenly appear from the sand,” he said. When they are caught, these baby turtles will be put in a washbowl. At twilight, when tourists come to the beach, Mertha releases the baby turtles into the sea.
