THE disaster arising from Lapindo's mudflow has gone far beyond the dam as its barrier. Amien Widodo, an expert at the Center for Earth & Disaster Studies of the November 10 Institute of Technology, Surabaya, said his center's research last year indicated the areas within a radius of 1 kilometer from the dam constituted a dangerous zone.
