INDONESIA is not only a country with beautiful scenery but also one prone to disasters. Earthquakes and landslides can happen anytime, anywhere. Data from the National Agency for Disaster Control (BNPB) show 60 percent of the disasters in the country are quakes and landslides. In 2009, for instance, 161 landslides occurred in 15 provinces, in which 659 people died and 237 were injured.

West Java was the province holding the record with 83 lands
